My Old Lady Life and Thoughts

On November 22, 21016, I officially left The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was baptized into a group that is striving to reclaim the TRUE Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. While working on a forum allegedly trying to come to one heart and one mind I was told to remove the following post! I have removed the individuals name to whom I was attempting to address their question and I not only included the actual scripture references! This post, as I was told was not acceptable to be on the form! So I have left that form and just have been working on my personal studies to ward what was being being started by Joseph Smith prior to the martyrdom.
This is that post:
I find it interesting that you are willing to quote Denver Snuffer but have totally negated the Book of Mormon, either the LDS or the Restored Edition! Have read the Book of Mormon in any edition? There is a whole newer teaching of Jesus Christ's teaching and he lays out the baptismal stipulation. You need to read Section 73 (RE). It is the Doctrine and Covenants the Restored Edition.
"SECTION LXXIII.(1835)
An explanation of the epistle to the first Corinthians, 7th chapter, 14th verse.
1 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband, else were your children unclean, but now are they holy.
2 Now in the days of the apostles the law of circumcision was had among all the Jews, who believed not the gospel of Jesus Christ. And it came to pass that there arose a great contention among the people concerning the law of circumcision, for the unbelieving husband was desirous that his children should be circumcised and become subject to the law of Moses, which law was fulfilled. 2 [3] And it came to pass that the children being brought up in subjection to the law of Moses, and give heed to the traditions of their fathers, and believed not the gospel of Christ, wherein they become unholy: wherefore, for this cause the apostle wrote unto the church, giving unto them a commandment, not of the Lord but of himself, that a believer should not be united to an unbeliever except the law of Moses should be done away among them, that their children might remain without circumcision; and that the tradition might be done away, which saith, that little children are unholy: for it was had among the Jews: but little children are holy being sanctified through the atonement of Jesus Christ: and this is what the scriptures mean."
Also look at the restored scriptures Section 73:4RE
And again inasmuch as parents have children in Zion, that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God, and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of the hands when eight years old, the sin be upon the head of the parents, for this shall be a law unto the inhabitants of Zion, and their children shall be baptized for the remission of their sins when eight years old and receive the laying on of the hands. And they also shall teach their children to pray and to walk uprightly before the Lord. And the inhabitants of Zion shall also observe the Sabbath day to keep it holy. And the inhabitants of Zion also shall remember their labors, inasmuch as they are appointed to labor, in all faithfulness, for the idler shall be had in remembrance before the Lord.
In addressing the infant baptism is NOT necessary due to the fact "...they are holy and sanctified through the atonement..."
Have you read the Book of Mormon in any edition?
Do you have a testimony of it's truthfulness as a testament of Christs visitation here in the Americas?
Do you have a testimony that Joseph Smith was visited and Godly hands laid upon his head bestowing the priesthood keys and was set apart to usher in the Restoration of Christ's Gospel here on earth?
Do you believe in Joseph's recount of these visitations as well as him being lead to where the golden plates where Mormon had hidden them away?
Do you believe that Joseph worked with the guidance of God to translate those plates to become the Book of Mormon that we have today and that through His help we are restoring His truthful words back in to that text?
The reason I am asking all of these questions because from what you have posted you may not have the testimony of these other documents that is to be included as part of Christ's teachings. However you are the type of person we are hoping and striving to bring this restored gospel to. You may not have any history with these other texts but they are critically important to have this knowledge and a further testament of Jesus Christ and His love for us.
You may be on the ladder to this restoration of His gospel, but you may have more work to be done: if we can ever be 'done' with the words of Jesus Christ and God.
I come from a whole life (61) years within the LDS Church and have read and have that testimony of Joseph Smith as a TRUE prophet of God and that the Book of Mormon that he translated is a history of the appearance of Jesus Christ as well as the history of the American peoples. I also have felt for many years that the LDS Church had 'gone off the rails' with Christ's teachings! And I was turned on to this movement and I can say that I KNOW that this is the work of God! That we are working toward the restored gospel that Joseph Smith started but was killed before he could get the then saints back on track and could continue with God's work. It was within a few months that I was first heard of this group and I spent many days reading and studying, and hours in prayer. I knew this was right and where I needed to be I was baptized shortly after this knowledge was made to me. I can share with all here that I has so brokenhearted when I heard a very dear friend had be baptized into this group. I was praying that night and I did not address this in my prayer but I can tell you God knew my heart was very troubled! I got up and was turning down my bed and I received a witness so strong and profound! It was nothing that I had ever experienced in my whole life it was that strong! God knew my heart and knew that I was troubled and I was given the confirmation that this is where I needed to be so I could learn and worship God in the way Christ had set forth! That is my testimony and my conversion. I continue to ready and study His Word daily and by working on this project I pray that we can continue to work towards where God wants us to be! Amen.
I'm sorry for the length of this, but my heart was to help you maybe understand why we are so adamant on the baptism at or about 8 years old. We know from the restored gospel through Joseph Smith as well as the confirmation from studies with children that they are not fully capable of discernment of right and wrong and the consequences from each.
